  VISITOR REVIEW

Despite the many good experiences I have had dining at Iberia Tavern & Restauarant through the years, I was overwhelmingly disappointed on my recent visit. A group of us went to Iberia to celebrate a birthday and after looking forward for some time to once again eat at one of our favourite places, we were all devasted at the execution of our meals. One of my favourite dishes is the chicken and rice (with bone) dish. Usually cooked in a personal casserole pot with its great flavors simmering over the fluffy rice. Needless to say, the dish I had last night was not in a casserole but a platter and it appeared to have a film of stock over the rice and flavorless. It was more chicken soup with some rice added. What a dissapointment. In addition, two `Iberia Steak` dishes came out cold and we had to return it to warm up. Of course, at this point when the two steak dishes came back, the steaks were over cooked and hard. They didn't eat it. Another person order the stuffed flounder special with the traditional yellow rice and potatoes instead of the steamed vegetables and boiled potatoes. Again, another disappointment-they did not serve his flounder with the sides he requested. Instead, it was served with the boiled potatoes and steamed vegetables.

Overall, the disappointment was devasting since we normally love Iberia's food. When asked to speak to a manager or head waiter, no one came. It was a clear message to us that the restaurant did not care to address our disappointment which is problably the one thing that topped off our dining experience as one of the worst.

The waiter was gracious and apologized. He removed the two steak dinners from the final bill however, we were not asking for free meals...just a good one.

After this experience I most likely will not return to Iberia Tavern & Restaurant simply because the food is not the same and management did not have the courtesy to extend his/her ear to us when all we wanted to ask is why such a good restaurant failed us?
