We had our son's graduation party here in June, 2001 and are planning to have his wedding here in January,2007. In both instances we found the staff at Giando to be most cooperative and flexible. Their prices were the best we found for comparative sites in both Brooklyn and Manhattan and it is not easy to even call them comparable because of the wonderful view. The charge mentioned for the wedding ceremony was also the most reasonable we found and justified because they have to take down and set back up the dinning room furniture. $500 was very reasonable considering we were quote $1,000 other places where the change was not necessary. I checked this place out for my own wedding. I loved the view and thought wow, this is it. Until I heard the per head prices. Your guests only get 2 choices, instead of three like most catering halls and the cocktail hour has 2-3 less hot foods and pass around foods as other catering halls. The prices I was given was $80-$90 per head. $90 being the higher end. They were not willing to work with you for anything. They obviously don't need us! They make us pay for the view! I am sure the food is wonderful but come on, work with your people.
I was also told that an on-site ceremony costs $500.00 with nothing except the chair set up for your guests. I was and am very disappointed. Other catering halls work with you providing a gazebo with flowers, etc. I am upset!
