I first started eating there in 1960 as a student at San Francisco State when a Korean friend took me for a late-nite meal after pulling our shift at the local post office. Been going there ever since as trips to Bay Area allow. The food is wonderful but for me the biggest draw is the 60's nostalgia, notwithstanding the intervening stops at Berkeley, Harvard, Europe and North Africa, any one of which in a more reasonable person should have yielded a greatly surpassing experience. But alas, Sam Wo retains it title. Life is more than bread alone.
