I was in New York and got a chance to visit Dawat last Wednesday, and it was simply great. Had some unusual curry dishes like faraswi bhaji and baked eggplant - both were just fantastic !They were just ideal - not greasy and just the perfect spices and tempering ! Would surely recommend this excellent place to others. Service was slightly patchy - we asked the waiter to show us a list of the non-alcoholic drinks, and he replied that they do not have a listing ! You can order anything from the open bar. My opinion is atleast guide us with some names before we get to choose or create our own concoction... Service can get slow when it gets busy. However, best in New York!
