we made a reservation at Balthazar for seven people, for 6:30 on a Sunday night. A week later, someone called to confirm our reservation at Pastis. We told him that was the wrong restaurant, but neither he nor the manager would agree to reinstate our reservation. My daughter suffered food poisoning at Pastis, so we declined the offer. As a result of this experience, I cannot recommend Balthazar's food, and I certainly do not think much of its ethics.
