I am a first generation Italian-American. I grew up to the smell of tomato, basil, and garlic bubbling in my kitchen, my nona's meatballs, and my mom's pasta *jerkioli. I have been disappointed in the past by the Olive Garden type restaurants that seem to populate the south as a representation of Italian food. Until I found Scalini's. Their food is superb! I can honestly say that they are one of the best restaurants I have been to in the south. (edited)
