I happen to know a bit about the way food is made at the Med. The pizza dough and every piece of bread is homemade on a daily basis with fresh ingredients. Every pizza topping is fresh made, the produce shipped in from the local produce mart 3 times a week. The pizzas are made to order, the burgers are hand-molded and shipped fresh the next day. The fries are frozen--but they are high quality. The prices do slightly reflect this committment to high-quality ingredients. I do regret that this may put the Med out of some students budgets. However, complaining about things that you have no idea about just to be negative doesn't help anyone choose a restaraunt. People looking for well-made food will always do well at the Medici.- Is follow up to post by albenesius ...
I just don't see the argument that Hans is all
that community-oriented. Some of the
"gourmet" pizza ideas are good, but they're
premade and in my experience, skimpy on the
toppings. Have you ever ordered the
"Moroccan ragout" or hummus? The serving is
so paltry that I would be embarrassed to offer
it to a beggar. Burgers are, what, nine dollars
now? With soggy fries? I don't know, man--
my money is going elsewhere on general
principles. I don't care how Hans gets to
work, so long as there's no biking on the walk. -- 12/4/2004 12:23:27 AM
