Fine traditional cuisine. The best pate de foie gras in New York City. The service is attentive and friendly. The cost is actually reasonable when compared to the other places in midtown and if you order wisely, the tab is no more than the average high quality NYC restaurant. I dine there several times a year and have never had less than a great experience. Old fashioned, for sure, but the best of that sort of atmosphere with a rich tradition and incarnations, going back to the heyday of Truman Capote, Katherine Hepburn, Errol Flynn, the Kennedy clan and Charles Boyer.
