The food is good and artfully presented in a lovely atmosphere, but I'm never sure what to expect in terms of service. When the restaurant was still at its previous location it was sort of a hole in the wall with servers so negligent they seemed to resent having to bother with you. At the new location, my first several experiences were much better, but the old ways seem to be returning. On various occasions we have had the wrong item brought or simply had something forgotten. Even on a not too busy night in the middle of the week we've sometimes waited so long for our server just to acknowledge us or bring us a glass of water after being seated that we have finally given up in disgust and made the drive to Iwataya up near the airport. On at least two occasions, our completed sushi order sat waiting on the sushi bar for an inexcusably long time while our server was AWOL. On the one occcasion, when we had been waiting for 40 minutes, the sushi chef finally had to bring us our food. Management seems earnestly apologetic when these instances are brought to their attention, but little improvement has been seen.
