I was surprised by my husband to celebrate our third wedding anniversary at this establishment. Being both our first times dining here, upon viewing the hotel and getting extremely excited about the gorgeous view we were going to share, i was ever so disappointed. From the moment we were seated at our table it became quite apparent how unbelievably terrible the service was the food was by no means even close to 5 star quality, seriously i was contemplating leaving to have a Sourdough Jack, whch had more taste than the dry chicken on pineapple i was served. Sadly 8/10 for ambience 0/10 for food, service and prices. You so do not get what you pay for.- Is follow up to post by tbolin ...
After reading all the (consistently) bad reviews posted here over the years and juxtoposing against the good time I had at this place many, many years ago (I think it was in the early seventies!) - I decided to revisit the Equinox w. a friend.
What a ghastly experience it was.
I'll try to be brief: Run, do not walk, from this place. Something has gone terribly wrong with this establishment over the years. Quite frankly the only thing that truly amazes me is how it continues to survive given the mediocrity/low quality of the food being served, the surly staff and the piss-poor service coupled with astronomical prices.
The view is nice though.
I'm not going back again which is sad - I'll just have to be content with remembering the betters days that this place once enjoyed..... -- 2/23/2006 11:48:48 AM
