My entire family (5 adults and 2 children)went to Cascio's after our motel recommended it. It was close to our motel and the employees stated that many of their customers had gone there and liked it. Four of the adults had steak ($19.50-$24.50). The steak was cut extremely thin (1/4 of an inch or less cooked - I'm not exaggerating) and with the grain. It resulted in a nasty tough mess. It had to have been just thrown on a slicer. No human would ever cut meat in this way. The meat was flavorless and full of gristle.
The salad was a bowl of iceberg lettuce which contained the bitter core and was inedible. The giant blob of dressing on top of the salad was garnished with a tiny carrot, a black olive and a hot pepper.
Each steak was served with a side of mostaccioli with marinara. This went untouched by all of the steak ordering members. This leads me to my unfortunate meal. I had mostaccioli with meatballs ($11.50). The marinara had a burnt taste like the bottom of the sauce pot had burned. I was unable to eat it. The meatballs were okay, but since they had been drowned in that nasty burnt marinara, I was not able to choke them down. I am a 20 year veteran school teacher and would have gladly traded the mastaccioli that our school cooks create for 400 children for my awful meal at Cascio's.
I was left with eating the hard breadsticks (which were supposed to be soft) with butter.
Each meal was served with an Italian vegetable soup as a starter. It was the best part of the meal, even though it was cold.
My 10 year old niece ordered toasted ravioli. It was cold, but good. Fortunately, she just eats them plain and pushed the marinara sauce to the side.
We complained to the owner, but he didn't seem to be very interested and went back over to his corner and continued to eat his meal.
Our waitress was a doll and is seeking employment elsewhere.
We are not a family of picky eaters. I implore you to skip this restaurant and save your money. I wish someone had warned us.
