I agree the service is horrible. I have heard so many wonderful stories about the food here but have not been able to eat. The 2 times I went, I had to wait nearly 2 hours for the food after which I got up and left as I had to pick up my daughter from school. I will not be going for the third time unless someone telle me the wait is down to 40 minutes. This place is probably for food lovers without children or people with the whole day on their hands.- Is follow up to post by humbuggybug ...
Went in Hema's on a recommendation. We've eaten on Devon Avenue at many places for years and loved it. Hema's food was great, however, the service was downright horrible. The wait was well over an hour for 3 dishes, even though the restaurant was relatively uncrowded for a Friday evening. They seem to give better service to their take-out customers. The young waiter was horrendous, and absolutely needs serving lessons. He ignored my 2 attempts as to when our food would arrive after an hour. The food is a little pricey for Indian food for the size of the servings, but I have to say that overall, is fantastic. Hema made up for the service by offering us a free dessert. I would go back again but next time I would be prepared to wait out and not have 2 kids with me and my husband. -- 10/17/2005 11:40:41 AM
