AVOID-Looking for a nice meal on our wedding anniversary (June 3rd)my wife and I visited Vesuvio's for the first time. Shortly after we were seated and placed our order, two other parties were seated next to us. These parties placed their orders roughly 10 to 15 minutes after our order was placed. Lo and behold, each of those tables received their appetizers before we did. After waiting a good ten minutes, we asked what was keeping our food. The waitress nervously answered that she would check on it and within another ten minutes our appetizers were brought. We had orders the same appetizer as the table next to us; Hot Antipasto for Two. Theirs looked great, ours looked like it was quickly slapped together. You could not discern one item from another due to the river of sauce covering everything. The wait for our entrees never ended. One of the tables who had come after us leisurly ate, paid and left. The other ate and received their check. Still no food for us. The hostess was well aware of our wait as she kept looking at us with feigned concern over our problem. When we asked the waitress what the deal was, she said there was a problem in the kitchen. It was to the point where we were just going to leave without paying. Had the waitress simply forgotten to put in our order? Something was up as the cook appeared at the kitchen door with the waitress who were talking together while looking at us. When the food finally came the Chicken Parmagiana we had both ordered was the driest thing I have ever been served. Without exaggeration it had the consistancy of wood and could barely be cut. Our complaint to the waitress was met with a barely audible `sorry about that`. The hostess seemed relieved to see us leaving. I did learn one thing that night; where NOT to spend my money. Rest assured I'll be giving my personal review of this restaurant to everyone I know and to anyone who asks, `Is there a good place to get Italian around here?` The answer...Not Vesuvio's!!!
