I would agree the Cheddar's in Springfield, MO is generally fantastic as are all of the Cheddar's we have dined at, but the Joplin, MO location has been consistently AWFUL! The food is not quite right most of the time, the staff and managers are all UNBELIEVABLY RUDE! After waiting 10 min. at the table, our waiter arrived only to slap his hands on the table and demand,`What do you want and What do you want?` Referring to our drinks. He then hastily disappeared before we could place our appetizer order. He came back with our drinks and we asked for sweetner, because our table had none, to which he replied,`We are out` We looked around at the tables near ours and called his attention to the fact that they all had some. Then he grabbed one off of a nearby table. We told him we were ready to order, and started by ordering the spinach dip appetizer. To which he replied, `That would take longer than your food.We have been backed up on appetizers all day.` So we opted for chips and queso, thinking surely the queso is warming in the back and not much effort would have to be expended to fill that order. We were wrong. Then we ordered salsa, and we were once again told that a plate of CHIPS AND SALSA would take as long as our food. Clearly the waiter was not going to put any effort into our appetizer. We decided to skip it. So we ordered and another server brought our food. Our waiter made one more appearance asking if everything was alright with our food, and without waiting for an answer, he disappeared into the kitchen. Contd...- Is follow up to post by jop_mo ...
My favorite place to eat! Not once have I ever had a bad experience here. We drive an hour to eat here. Thanks CHEDDAR's for coming to Joplin, Missouri! The Buffalo Style Rajun Cajun Chicken Strips are the BEST....not to mention the Broccoli Casserole and the mashed potatoes. Oh - can't forget the COOKIE MONSTER DESSERT!! Try the Spinich Dip for an apetizer - its the BEST! WOW - I love this place! -- 7/12/2005 11:04:36 PM
