As a former Japanese restaraunt manager and owner as well as having lived in Japan for 5 years and the west coast of the U.S. for 15 years, I would have to say this was the absolute worst Japanese restaraunts I have been in. Of course, there was only one Japanese person working there and the rest was an mix of Asians.
Since I did not sample the teppanyaki, I will only say that once you have eaten teppan, the mystery is at an end.
In short, the other food was a pitiful attempt that even most people in this country would shake their heads at. My wife said the California roll was barely edible because it was overfilled with cheap cream cheese. The fresh water eel was drowned in sauce - literally. I cracked up when I saw it, and it was pretty disgusting.
The sea urchin was fresh and tasty. However, the salmon roe was ill prepared and much too salty.
I ordered sashimi along with some of the appetizers.
The tempura was cooked in old oil, and it tasted like it. However, for quantity and variety is was passable - just not very edible. The gyoza (poststickers or whatever you want to call them) were akin to paste, at least that is the best description I can come up with. It was pretty gross, and my wife had to spit it into a napkin before she puked.
The sashimi was quite a bit better than the sushi and most of it appeared to be fresh. Unfortunately, by that point we were disenchanted and paid and left.
The service was okay, though a little slow at times.
I am neither the type of person to pitch a fit in a restaraunt if it does not meet my standards nor the type to sound off without an informed opinion.
Sushi Yoshi in Peachtree City kicks this place's butt.
It simply was not worth $90 (including tip).
When it comes to food, I can speak from a well informed background, and this was not very good. My apologies to the owners. Hopefully, they will work to upgrade the quality in the future.
The Japanese have a word that decribes this place `mukatsuku` or disgusting.
