My husband and I had dinner at Alpine on 2/26/06. After reading all the wonderful reviews, we thought this would be a great dining experience. We couldn't have been more disappointed. First, when we walked in the door, there was no hostess. We waited about 5 min. for someone to show up and finally had to seek someone out to seat us. Then we were seated in the noisiest section of the restaurant, although there were plenty of tables elsewhere. The waiter was not the least bit friendly and, in fact, my husband and I both questioned whether he was on some medication, for his affect was very strange. We sat for 15-20 min. after we had finished our meal waiting for him to bring our check. The only person who was attentive and, in fact, seemed embarassed and even apologized for the bad service, was the busboy!! I believe he went to tell our waiter at least twice that we were waiting for our check. Then I think he even told another waiter, who asked us if we had received it. The food was also disappointing. My saltimbocca was very fatty and my husband's fish was drowned in sauce.
