Piccolo Petes is an Omaha institution with a through-marriage connection to Omaha's legendary Caniglia family who have owned and operated Italian food and steakhouse restaurants in the city for 50+ years. Piccolo's is one of the few remaining `old time` family-owned steakhouses in Omaha. For about $15 a head you get: a succulent steak and/or Italian specialty dish, a house salad and fresh bread. The atmosphere is very much 1960s steakhouse and that ain't all bad if you are 40+. The younger kids (including those who wrote a few unfavorable reviews of Piccolo's) will undoubtedly like to drive west and try the trendy national-based restaurants with ZIP history and flavor, but I digress! Piccolo's is simply wonderful. If you are looking for good hearty and PROVEN fare served by experienced and friendly staff and at a decent price, Piccolo Pete's is the place!
