We were looking forward to a pleasurable dining experience before taking in the show White Christmas last Saturday evening, but were sadly disappointed by the anemic service. We politely waited almost an hour before we felt compelled to take action. We asked another waiter for our waitress, who never came, and then asked the `floor manager` to look into our meals because other diners who had sat down after we did were halfway through their meals. We watched as he fished out our order check from a pile and sent it down to the kitchen. He came over and gave us some *rich*amamie story that we were kept waiting because they were `unusually busy` and that there were, after all, 3 floors (Which, by the way, seemed to us to be their problem, not ours!). I then felt prompted to speak to the real manager, and was told that he was `really busy right now!` That was it! I went downstairs on my own to speak to him, and he was somewhat more understanding, but our dinner was by then ruined in spite of the lame apologies (demanded from the big boss) and complimentary desserts proferred by the 3rd floor manager. By then we just wanted out of there and declined. And that was after my halibut arrived hopelessly tasteless in spite of valiant capers and all. Oh well, apparently the Maltese Falcon isn't flying as high as touted by the restaurant, but has crashed and burned on takeoff. Overall an expensive dining experience you can well do without.
