We've never had a bad meal at Sayler's. My dad has been going there since the early 1950's (he has said they started as a hamburger stand somewhere East of the current location). We were devastated when the orginal building burned as we'd been going there for all of our family's special occasions. We were concerned that the Sayler family wouldn't rebuild the restaurant. We don't even ask my dad (he's 82) where he'd like his birthday dinner, it never changes. We always order the 20 oz. T-Bone and have never had a bad meal. I've had the deep fried halibat, and deep fried chicken and they are great but I always go back to the T -Bone. And the onion rings are wonderful! It may not be the fanciest place in Portland but the food is always outstanding and the employees are spectacular in their service to their customers.
