You should have left IMMEDIATELY when it was determined that this `wasn't your kind of place`. Shame on you to waste everyone's time.....and how was the waitstaff compensated? Probably with the same indifference...not their fault!!!- Is follow up to post by wwsteve ...
One of the worst experiences of our life. We went to this place for our 20th anniversary. We were seated, literally, in the midst of a business meeting. The rooms are small and we were seated next to people planning a catered affair. We asked to me moved but were informed that this was the only room open. In addition to being distracting, the woman planning the party had marinated in perfume that must have cost her $5 a gallon. We were then served a truely tasteless pate maison (hello? Liver? Where are you????) with some stale bread. Complaining again about the seating and being told the meeting was concluding, we were given a tour of the restaurant and the chef's truly amazing cook book collection. After returning to our table, we found that the marinated woman was still there and really smelling the place up. We ordered and were sure to get the crab veloute that has been raved about on other sites. We were then served what had to be a flour soup with a few lumps of canned crab meat in it. I'm sorry, but you are supposed to cook a veloute a bit to get the flour taste out so it doesn't come out tasting like it was flavored with Elmer's Glue-All. Also, the wine list was terrible and overpriced. After a few bites of the flour paste, we got up and left. To their credit they didn't charge us anything but I'm not about to pay $85 for a dinner that was horrible and sitting next to the Avon lady. We will never return and are astonished that this dump has gotten good reviews.
