We are New Orleans residents who evacuated to Baton Rouge and recently visited Pinetta's, a cozy little Italian place we loved when we were high school sweethearts. The place is unfortunately under new ownership. After enjoying our shrimp cocktail appetizer, we waited for our food for 75 minutes. The place was full, but not slammed, and NO FOOD was coming out of the kitchen. Our waitress avoided our table for 45 minutes. We finally went to the bar to find someone and asked for our food to go. It still took another ten minutes for the food to arrive, in styrofoam boxes. There was no adjustment on the bill, so we politely asked for one. The waitress said she'd ask but the owner `NEVER does that.` She came back and they had taken five dollars off the bill. Five dollars didn't even cover the appetizer! We said we'd pay for what we had drunk and eaten, but we didn't want the entrees, with their contents (pesto ravioli) now congealing inside. A few moments later, the owner herself strode over to our table. Rather than apologizing or even just explaining what had been going on, she berated us for a full minute in front of the other diners for our refusal to pay for the entrees. She was hostile and rude. Other diners began asking for their meals to go, as well, or just cancelling their orders. I have never had such a negative experience at any restaurant in my life, and I just want to save someone else the disappointment we experienced.
