  VISITOR REVIEW

I searched this site because this restaurant is having a singles dance tonight. So what does this mean? I know that the singles group has always carried itself with class, and has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FOOD OR SERVICE! HOWEVER, if what you say is true, WHY LOOK FOR MRS RIGHT there? bad service, horrible windows? What kind of nice girl from Wheeling or Buffalo Grove would fool with this place. Does this mean if there are nice single people there it would be fun, but I should not expect any food, or service from anyone, and shut my mouth, talk to women, and pray they aren't too disgusted with this place too? Im not sure, I don't see that anyone would want to go to this! Not after your review, and yes, I have been past there, and there are MUCH NICER places that the singles group could hold an event, and I will tell them that. Besides, who cares about the planes landing. With all due respect, that is not what single men or woman really care about, if you catch my drift.

One word - AWFUL. We used to love to go here. Then about 3 years ago we were burned - bad food, a horrible waitress with very long, unappetizing horrid green finger nails. I guess I had forgot the food and service but remembered and liked the atmosphere. So I decided to take my mother and 2 guests there to celebrate her b-day. The 1st tip off should have been that the parking had maybe 5 cars and there were only 3 other tables occupied at 7:00 on a Saturday night. In the interest of space and time - I'll only cover the highlights. We would have liked to to have been able to enjoy the beautiful sunset but the windows were positively filthy - this at a restaurant whose windows overlook the Palwaukee airport - the idea is to watch the planes take off and land. We all ordered the top sirloin in a mushroom wine sauce with sautéed onions and mushrooms - I asked for extra wine sauce on mine. The gentleman, who could hardly speak English and kept clicking his heels making us feel like we were in a Monty Python sketch, shook his head ok, ok BUT WROTE NOTHING next to my order. I immediately knew he was blowing off my request. Three 'medium well' steaks were served rare - just like the 4th that actually was ordered rare. The wine sauce was nothing more than au jus, the sautéed onions were undercooked and hard, practically raw, the mushrooms? Well they were few and far between and at one point we were all picking around our plates trying to find them. All this for $22.95/meal. Like another review said, there's a lot of places up and down Milwaukee Ave. Don't disappoint yourself by going here. -- 8/10/2005 12:01:15 AM
