I severely disagree. I have gone to Duke's numerous times. The old Duke's was great. Good atmosphere, good food and a good price. The Duke's of today is very expensive and the food is just OK. The service leaves much to be desired, but the location on Lake Union is very nice. Currently, I feel the Ocean Air Seafood restaurant is a better place to go if you want to spend that much money. Also, beware of Duke's wait staff. I ordered a halibut fillet for $22. I was asked if I would like `salad or chowder.` I opted for the salad, believing it was included with my $22 dollar piece of over cooked fish. Unfortunately, I was charged an extra $6 for a small plate of salad. The fish filled did come with a lump of orange colored rice and 4 stalks of asparagus. Needless to say, I will not be going back. This restaurant was very good! We had two of the chowder samplers that each came with 4 types of chowder. There are 8 on the menu, so we were able to try them all!
Their clam chowder is VERY good....the others are very good as well, but I like the clam the best!
The atmosphere here is great! Our waitress was friendly and prompt with her service! We would definately go back.
