My husband and I used to enjoy going to DT's not for the food -which is only ok and somewhat pricey-but for the fun atmosphere-strong drinks-and because it reminds us of home (NYC). The last time we were there-the Maitre De came over to me at least a half dozen times to tell me how beautiful I was-and to tell my husband how lucky he was. So I guess I thought we had a bit of a repoir -boy was I wrong! At 9:20 (with a 9:00 reservation for 4 which we were assured over the phone they would have no problem accomodating on time since it was only a Tuesday night) My husband asked me to to talk to my `friend`. So I did-I asked him nicely and with a smile if there was anyway we could have the booth I saw opening up for my starving husband and his boss -to which he barked -loudly enough for several patrons to hear-`thats not going to happen`-`go to the bar-get a drink-and wait like everyone else` and then stormed off in a huff like I had just slapped him in the face. I stood there dumb struck for a moment-while two guys behind me said `wow-what an @$$&*!#`-I didn't tell my husband (right away)- everyone was too hungry to deal with a confrontation-so I went outside and told them that the wait was over an hour and we should go somewhere else-. Which is what we will do from now on. Its too bad when a fun place gets an attitude problem-
