in an effort to impress clients, i began taking them to what i was told is the best restaurant in riverside, if not the entire inland empire. i have been there with clients 7 times in the past month. the hostess is wonderful. the service from the waitresses is spotty; sometimes good and sometimes not. examples: sometimes they put a slice of lemon in your waterglass, but not always. sugar is in cubes in a cute little covered silver container; sometimes you get tongs and sometimes not. the food: stick to the filet mignon, the prime rib, the salmon, and the halibut. most of the soups are good and homemade. avoid the french onion soup (they make it SWEET! yuck), avoid the ahi salad, avoid the crab risotto, avoid the crab salad. at $20 to $26 for LUNCH entrees, the food should be spectacular. instead, it is generally on par with black angus, which i think is a great value. if you want to ad soup or salad, they are each $8. do try the shrimp cocktail. i do like the ambience; very ritzy and elegant and club-like. better yet, go to black angus and save a lot of money.
