Sounds like `hysterical` is the wrong word. Perhaps `crazy` is more appropriate. You found fault with the entire night. Perhaps next time you should stay home a cook for yourself.- Is follow up to post by manjiri2567 ...
When we entered, the restaurant seemed nice and historical, but not child friendly. It was our fault that we stayed on.
Here is how it happened:
1) Even after having repeatedly told that we have two kids with us while making the reservation, we were placed in the smoker section of the restaurant. When we asked to move to a non-smoking place, we were told that we would have to wait for a long time to get a table in the non-smoking section. Our fault that we stayed on!
2) We ordered wine and although we were a party of 6 adults and two children, the waiter filled only four glasses. The two remaining adults had to pour their own wine from the bottle.
3) In every good restaurant bread and butter are automatically placed on the table. Here, the waiter forgot to get us any bread and after having repeatedly asked for it, he finally obliged.
4) While ordering food, we asked the waiter if side dishes were included in the Entree and he told us that we would have to order sides separately. We ordered sides, only to discover that the Entree came with its own side.
5) The food served was cold. Before this we weren't exactly used to eating cold steak!
6) The waiter seemed to be in real hurry to get us out of the restaurant. We were still working on our food, just paused and kept the fork on the dish, the waiter came and tried to take the plate away.
7) We endured the whole experience and paid quite some money (Bookbinders is not exactly cheap).
8) After this I went to the hostess at the front desk and asked for a comments form. The manager who was standing next to the hostess told me that there is no form and that I should tell him my complaint.
9) I told him all the above points (1 to 7). He came to our table and told us that we have the choice of going to some other restaurant in future and called me "hysterical" for having complained.
The whole experience was a nightmare. Not exactly a restaurant experience that I looked forward to. -- 4/2/2005 7:29:53 PM
