I've been to the Swingside at least 50 times in my 10 years here in Seattle, and I have never had anything but an exemplary experience. The food is out of sight and the wait staff are always prompt and curtious. Considering you left two reviews in two different years, and they were identical, it seems you have something against the place itself, or its manager. I will continue to `take my chances` as this is one of the most consistantly wonderful places left in Seattle.- Is follow up to post by lobsterluv2000 ...
I will happily invite ANYONE who likes this restaurant to prove that I am making up my experience there. Of all the restaurants in Seattle, (I adore the prawns at Flying Fish, the pork sandwiches at Paseo, the catfish platter at Catfish Corner, the strawberry shortcake-when in season, at The Kingfish and the mussels at The Capitol Club). Why on earth would I and my guest, who'd also never been to this place before, pick The SWINGSIDE to have a bad experience in and walk out of??? Believe what you want, but all I know is that there were only two other customers in the restaurant and we sat there like any other customers waiting for the waitress to come by and say "I'll be right with you.." and after an inordinate amount of time of just sitting there, I said to the waitress, "Excuse me..." and all Heck broke loose! When I did receive my order, my pasta was CLEARLY covered with snot! To this day, I have no idea why we had to sit there being ignored, but I'd be surprised if the waitress with the pierced nose that was "serving" us still works there. Enjoy the Swingside if you like, but it was like the Twilight Zone to me and my friend. I don't even KNOW the manager or owner there so I have no reason to make this up. It happened.
