What an idiot... This restaurant has been consistently one of the best seafood restaurants in the country - Voted `Best In the US` by Southern Living Mag. Yes, it's dark. Most people consider this romantic. You MUST be a frequent patron of Captain D's (and Waffle House too, I expect). Not at home unless there are 15 screaming kids around with their redneck parents. And for the view of the fishing boats...those boats were responsible for catching the seafood on your plate only an hour or so before you ordered it...duhhh. Most people would consider this quaint and a good sign that the fish will be fresh. Do not listen to this person's review. He clearly has no class or any clue what an experience at a fresh seafood house should be. Jimmy and Johnny Patronis are the owners and are from Greece. They are extremely meticulous and as anyone who is well traveled knows, Greeks make excellent restauranteurs. They will make your experience memorable. Order the Scamp Imperial and if they are out of fish, as they sometimes are (you can't control how the fish bite that day), order the fried seafood platter or the Churasco steak. Always have the Greek salad with feta cheese and REAL Greek Calamata olives....mmmmmm. - Is follow up to post by rsmith1 ...
Terribly disappointing!! The place was dark, my "view" was the back ends of fishing boats, the waitress forgot about us, the food was bland and the ONLY fish choice was Grouper.
Would have rather eaten at Cpt Dee's than Cpt Anderson's.
Needless to say, I will NEVER eat there again. -- 9/28/2004 8:52:08 PM
