Tadich is great! Try the smoked trout appetizer and don't expect the food to get too fancy. These guys aren't the precious single scallop and virgin pea pod for $15.99 type. The servers can be surly and curt but it's a game and if you decide to play you'll probably find the back and forth banter casual and fun. Service is professional and efficient and the uniform of white aprons worn by the servers is a nice nod to an old fashioned style of dining. To stay in business for over 140 years in a food-centric city such as San Francisco is no small fete. They must be doing something right and that’s serving great food with no pretense.
