We went there on New Year's Eve, early seating. Complimentary oysters were warm and dry--obviously sitting around for some time. The martini which arrived 15-20 minutes later was also at room temperature. Food was basically good, but service was indifferent. Oven-roasted lobster was good, but no utinsels for opening the claws were provided. The waitress told us `we don't serve lobster crackers` as if this were only done in lower-class restaurants. She finally agreed (as if it were a nuisance for her to do so) to take the creature back to the kitchen. It returned with claws cracked--as they should have been when the plate was first served. Then dessert (part of the prix fixe) a cherry tart was rubbery and uninspired. A VERY disappointed experience for the $200-plus price for two. - Is follow up to post by sgoulter ...
2004 - No longer a favorite. It's gone WAY down hill in the past year and a half. Go for a glass of wine, but skip the food.
Can't understand it. The chef-partner stayed...and the food quality went down hill. Wine-partner leaves and this place still has new and amazing wines
2001 - Outstanding! Traditional french bistro fare pushed to the limit with sauces that are almost sinful. The service is beyond reproach. Add to that a comprehensive (ever changing) wine list, which offers not only hard to find gems, but also dozens of new and unique selections, and you will agree this place is one-of-a-kind. -- 9/18/2001 11:13:48 PM
