I stumbled upon Fred's back in 2000 while at a conference in SF. I decided to take a morning drive down to Sausalito and needed a good breakfast. Driving by Fred's I decided to stop in. I sat at the bar (typical of diners) and ordered up some scrambled eggs, french toast, bacon, coffee, and OJ. One of the gentlemen behind the buy reached into a basket, pulled out several large organges and promptly served me a glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice. I was pretty amazed at that, but what followed was even more amazing. The scrambled eggs were served puffy - very tasty and cooked perfectly. The French toast looked liked thick 1` slices of home baked bread, and the bacon was lean and delicious. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect breakfast. Fred's is small and they cook for you like you were visiting their home. I went back about 18 months later - brought my daughter this time. The cashier remmebered me - go figure! Same excellent breakfast. Highly recommended.
