I agree. The rolls shocked me. If your going to buy store rolls at least pick some good ones. The ribs were `hammy` and gristly and not much to them. The slaw was awful, beans not bad, and prices high. Ambience was the only attraction for me, but you could have stopped in for a Coke to get that.- Is follow up to post by jjeverson1 ...
I had been researching Memphis barbecue for weeks before going there and decided upon the Redezvous. I was highly disappointed. The fact that the servers' rudeness is supposed to add to the character of the place didn't bother me as much as it does some. What bothered me most is that the food definitely did not even come close to living up to its overly touted reputation. There was hardly any meat on the ribs, if any meat at all. The ribs were merely bones convered with a dry spicy powder. Also, the ribs came with a tiny plastic cups of beans and slaw and then store-bought white rolls. A pretty meager serving for the hefty price!!! The wine/beer selection was meager as well--just cheap brands. I would highly recommend bypassing this establishment and finding your barbecue elsewhere! -- 11/22/2003 9:38:39 AM
