Well first of all the reason that the meat is expensive isnt because of the size of it; its because of the quality of meat. Secondly, if you ordered it over medium then you should know that there will not be much flavor left in it . . . and that size of a steak cooked that way will take about 20 minutes or so. Finally when you go into a place like Saltgrass, it is not considered fast food . . . the waiters are very efficiently trained on the times that they should do things. My advice is that if you desire your food quicker then just mention something at the beginning. The waiter can change the timing to better suite your needs.- Is follow up to post by drtonyt ...
The first time I dined at the Saltgrass Steak House with my family I ordered a T-bone steak. For $22+ I expected a far better cut of beef with a size to match the price. I was disappointed to say the least. Add this to the unacceptably long period of time that we were required to wait for the wait staff to take our order and then arrive with our food (some 50 minutes later) and you have the ingredients for a poor restaurant review.
After sharing my disappointment with the manager on duty my family and I were greeted with a "free dessert coupon" to be used on our next visit. After a few choice-convincing words with the manager he was later persuaded to deduct a reasonable percentage from our bill. As for the "free dessert coupon", we enjoyed it one evening after dining at a far superior steak house closer to home...in our own backyard.
