Considering Pier 4's reputation, I was disappointed in my dinner there. The French onion soup was nothing special and had very litle cheese on top. The lettuce in the Caesar salad was mostly limp and the flavor merely average. My fish was good, moist and flakey, though my husband said his was dry. The filet green beans could have been could a little longer and still been al dente. They had no seasoning at all, no herbs, spices, almonds, etc. to make them distinctive. The ice cream pie for dessert was no more than a thin cracker crust filled with a good amount of plain ice cream covered with the worst artificial whipped topping I have ever had, and a spoonful of frozen strawberries. there was nothing about this meal to make it distinctive or memorable in any way. And the prices were way too high for what we got. Save yourself money and disappointment. Boston is filled with many excellent restaurants. Pier 4 is no longer one of them. It survives on its location and reputation. Don't be fooled.
