  VISITOR REVIEW

We were made to wait an hour for our table, though we had a reservation. The hostess eventually offered us drinks on the house and we could have forgiven and moved on if things had gone smoothly from there. Alas, they did not. The food was very slow in coming, even though the crowd had thinned out by then. We waited half an hour for our desserts in a totally empty restaurant! The clam and shrimp chowder was very good, the lamb and the pate were acceptable, though not what one would expect at a restaurant of this supposed caliber (Il Capriccio's versions are infinitely better), and the lingine with clams was distinctly mediocre. I have had better at Bertucci's at half the price. The decor is attractive, but the noise level made conversation nearly impossible. Lumiere, in a similar sized space, was quieter and more comfortable. I would not return. This restaurant has become arrogant and doesn't think it needs to work to please, but is resting on past laurels.
