This restaurant is a gem! From the food to the ambience to the service everything is exceptional. This week, I was in Atlanta on a business trip, but got there early on the weekend. On Sunday evening, I cruised around Buckhead in search of an interesting place to dine. When I turned into a parking lot to make a u-turn, I spotted this restaurant. It looked nice from the outside, so I decided to give it a chance. It was my lucky evening!
As I entered, I was immediately impressed by the rich, exotic ambience. A Mediterranean vista painted on one wall; a wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling mirror on the opposite wall; a wooden canopy supported on marble pillars with grapevines dangling from the top, in the center of the room; complemented by soft lighting and mellow Arabic tunes.
The waiter sat me next to the painted wall and informed me that it was buffet night ($16 including drinks and tax). After ordering my drinks, I set out to the buffet. Looking at the food I spotted the usual Greek/Lebanese fair. At the first bite, however, I realized that it wasn't just regular Mediterranean fare. Each and every item was packed with heavenly flavors. The spicy lentil soup; the round flavored hummus; the tangy tahina; the crispy falafel patties; the savory Greek salad; the sweet, juicy, roasted chicken; the garlicky ground beef skewers; the zesty baked beans; the flavorful lamb and rice casserole; the irresistible crispy, sweet walnut dumplings; the creamy rice pudding - just to mention a few of them.
Although I am fairly exposed to Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine (I live in the New York metro area where there are Greek/Israeli/Arabic/Turkish restaurants on every corner), I must say that this place is among the best ones.
