Walking through the doorway at Jim's Steak and Spaghetti House is like stepping back in time. You can still perch on a stool at the counter or you can slide into a vinyl upholstered booth and be served by smiling waitresses clad in white uniform dresses. You can sit in the same spot where JFK sat and eat the same food that he ate when he was there. Nothing changes at this establishment except for the occasional addition of a new waitress to work along side the others, most of whom have been there since I first set foot in this restaurant in 1970. Seems that almost everyone has eaten at Jim's at one time or another and if they haven't, they should. The walls are covered with autographed photographs of well known and a few not so well known people who have dined on Jim's famous spaghetti. Jim is no longer able to greet his patrons as he did for as long as this writer can remember and his presence is missed, but his shoes are being filled by his daughter who does an excellent job of overseeing this dining establishment frequented by locals and visitors since Jim's was founded in 1938. The fare at Jim's is consistantly good as is the service. While they are famous for their spaghetti my favorite is the haddock. There is something for everyone there.
