College in New Orleans taught me one lesson I'll never forget: Abita Amber is the best beer in the world.

Acme is one of the few restaurants in New York that serves Abita, and that alone is enough to keep me coming back.

But the food is exceptional as well, although if you ask the servers to heat your pecan pie up on the grill in true Nola style they'll think you're nuts. The key lime pie may be a better option.

The restaurant itself is cluttered with zany hot sauce bottles and old-fashioned gas station signs.

Overall, the food is excellent is enjoyable and the service is friendly. It may be just short of a `true` Cajun pitstop, but Acme is still one of New York's best southern restaurants.
