Breakfasts at Sears is mandatory when I am in downtown San Francisco. When first recommened to me by my elderly uncle from NY I thought he was going senile. When you mention Sears most people think of Craftsman tools and DieHard batteries but this isn't THAT Sears. Staying at the Drake (across the street) I saw lines for breakfast forming at 6am and when I went to investigate I was hooked. This is a teriffic classic breakfast joint that is not to be missed for good hearty comfort food like omlettes, pancakes and traditional morning fare. I once witnessed them getting an egg delivery and was astounded by the sheer quantity of eggs. And yes, I apologized to my uncle for thinking his recommendation of `Sears for Breakfast` was an indication of creeping senility, it was a testiment to his good taste!
