The Royal East was one of those gems of the city found by accident. The proprietor, Otto (Chinese, not Austrian)was very friendly and welcoming upon our first visit. All of the staff were very attentive without being intrusive. One of the table games we like to play is `see if you can actually empty your glass of water`. The wait staff is so good, this is nigh-impossible. The dishes were well prepared and tasty. The battered fried dishes like General Gao's chicken were wery lightly battered and suffered none of the overbattered overfried effects some of the other restaurant inflict on their dishes. Personal recommendations: You MUST start with the Hot and Sour Wonton Soup (Suan La Chow Sho) . as a main dish: Ginger and Scallion Squid.
