The ambience was not cozy. The lady waiter was less than friendly. The food was not attractive in both presentation and in taste for a restaurant of such high caliber. For the first course the ravioli with goose liver and diver scallop came with 3 small pieces a foamy supposedly saffron-Riesling sauce but the flavor of saffron was not at all noticeable. The liver flavor edged out the delicate scallop, the whole thing tasted more like a mushroom mixture. The roasted sweetbread tasted like fried and the asparagus was no more than boiled with lemon juice, not that flavorful. The quartet of the sea was even more disappointed. It came in four small square plates each with a tiny portion of seafood, two small pieces of sashimi, HALF a medium shrimp... the accompanying sauces and garnishes were less than impressive. For the entrees we tried the filet migon with truffle mashed potato, the steak was tender but again not much flavor, the truffle flavor was next not non-existent in the mashed potato and the little mound of salad that came with it was nothing special. The grilled turbot was sweet and moist but the chanterelle mushroom and the potato gniocchi were bland. The lobster tail with risotto was ... terrible in the sense that the risotto was barely cooked, watery and salty. The worse risotto I've tasted at a high-end restaurant. For all the entrees I am not impressed with what comes with the meat or fish. We decided to skip desert since nothing sounded special. The desert menu even looked dated with poor printing, smeared ink, needs to improve on the presentation here. I had a glass of Riesling from Alsace that was too ordinary for $13.50 :-(. For the same or lesser price I get much better food, service at Campanile, Valentino, Sona, Jiraffe, Lucques ... I only like the beautiful bright red/orange water glass and the olive bread. The little stem of orchid on the table was even wilted. The wait between the first and second course was quite long too. Sad experience!
