After hearing raves about this place on the Food Network, and from other reviews on this site and around town, we tried Philippe. A good French Dip is delicious.... a bad French Dip, is, to say the least - disgusting. Unfortunately, Philippe fell into the latter category for us. Rubbery slimy gray beef on a tasteless roll.... yuck. Not particularly fond of the potato salad, either. If you are looking for a really good restaraunt of this ilk, try Lefty O'Douls off Union Square in San Francisco....
