I am not the type to write letters, but my experience at your restaurant prompted me to do so. My husband and I celebrated our 14th Anniversary yesterday. Since last night was “Back to School” night we were not able to celebrate until after 9pm. After calling around, my husband found out that your restaurant serves up until 11pm. We arrived at about 9:30pm. Although the atmosphere was great with a live jazz band, we sat at our table for ten minutes without service. I called over to a waiter who responded that he “may” be our waiter, he would check. After another 5 minutes without attention, I went to the hostess and shortly thereafter was waited on by the same waiter. Our table had nothing but salt & pepper shakers onit. After another 10 minutes, our wine arrived, and a bus boy dropped cold bread and butter wrapped only in a cloth napkin on the table. We waited for our food for 30 minutes. The waiter told us it was late due to the fact that the chef had burned our fish and they were cooking another fish. When it finally did arrive, my haddock was delisious, but my husband salmon had a terrible burn taste to it. It turns out the took the fish, and shaved off the burnt portion. $90 later we were finished. Luckily my husband and I are happily married and made the best of the evening. Being that I am in the media, specializing in sales I understand the need to make customers happy. I think many people saw how mistreated we were, yet no one even tried to apologize. My pint is this, if you can not accommodate late night patrons, close your kitchen earlier. With so many great restaurants in Marin County, you cannot afford to los a customer like me. Never underestimate the power of “word of mouth”.
