I am usually pretty unenthusiastic about Boston area restaurants... low value, uninspired food... i cook pretty well, and I'm a cheapskate so I don't like to spend $15 on something I could make myself for $3... but the Helmand is one of those places that is just a treat to visit. Great breads, the sauces are fantastic, the room is excellent, and they do amazing things with pumpkin. Definitely try this place out. It's a place I'm never afraid to take guests... not cheap, but reasonably priced. I think it's a very good value and a fine meal.
