After reading reviews for this restaurant on other sites, we were excited to try it. We usually stick to a couple tried and true favorites, but we wanted to branch out a little. We ended up being very disappointed. The salads were quite bland and the entrees were equally sub-par. My wife had a masculine salad which she exchanged for my caesar salad. I thought the caesar lacked flavor, but she found it at least better than hers.
For entrees, my wife had the Orecchiette D'Alba which had good reviews on other sites. She found it to be similar to the noodles with butter we serve our kids. And the truffles, where were they? I had the Ravioli Di Carciofi which was overcooked and mushy.
Although the busboy was attentive in filling our water, the waiter never asked if things were ok. They also served way too fast. Our salads were served almost as soon as they took our menu, and our entrees arrived very soon after. They never offered to fill our bread. The secret garden room was nice, but very noisy.
Finally, they didn't honor their own promotions. We had tickets to a matinee, and the tickets came with a coupon for a free dessert (a Visa promotion - we noticed it the day of our trip and had reservations previously). This restaurant happened to be on the list of four 'honoring' this promotion. The restaurant would not honor it, however. This made the experience just a little more sour.
Although the prices were average for NYC, I'd rather pay more to get more.
