**Why ever does this site have to edit me?** (continued) My dining/partner/in/crime disliked it and was given his de riguer baked spud. Hmmm. The La Jolla potato is like cello music - either you love its creamy, almost cheesey, rich flavor that does seem to have the subtle nuance of real bananas; or you'll loathe them. I'd say, try them as where else can you feast on rich, creamy, cheese smothered potatoes that do NOT have any of members of the lactose family? My dining-partner-in-crime took our lovely and efficient wait person's advice and ordered Steak au Poivre, or pepper steak. No! It wasn't that cubed steak with a few soggy bell peppers, but a generously cut NY steak topped with peppercorns, bacon and onions. This was ordered rare and it was exquisite as again the chef seasoned this intelligently and delicately whereby the salt cellar or peppermill did not overwhelm the meat. Combined with wine, some table-to--table conversation (I am positive that I saw a few famous people) my evening was complete when the `Orgasmic Cheesecake` [Pie] arrived. The blueberries gave our taste buds a sweet kiss. I will return to Chez Jay to sample more of their superb beef and seafood offerings...and Jay if you're out there...may I pretend to be a virgin...uh, I mean a first time diner? You know, just in case you're giving our wondrous sweets again. What's even better is that my Kate Spade belt and bag were not the tighter nor the lighter and that, dear gourmands, IS an accomplishment in these recessionary times! Tara...Madison Fellows
