After reading Baltimall's review of Birches, we decided to make it the next stop on our list. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We found the food preparation to be very slow (even though the restaurant was quite empty). We also found the wine list to be one of the worst we have encountered in Baltimore. To make matters worse, we ordered the boneless duckbreast entree, which was overcooked and fatty (had more of a pork like texture than duck). When we brought this to the attention of the chef (and owner), he was extremely arrogant, and insisted that the duck was good (and I quote `since his father came in earlier in the evening and told him it was`). He was rude, and completely disrespectful, while refusing to substitute our meal with an acceptable one. Needless to say, we will never return, and I suggest that you all not waste your time and money on this restaurant. Canton Food Club
