If you are looking for an authentic Russian experience, the Russian Bear is your choice. The food is not among the best of San Francisco Russian restaurants in terms of selection or presentation but the food is not the reason it is packed on weekends. It is Russia away from home, with wonderful live Russian pop music, large dance floor, festive atmosphere and everybody has a great time. Early in the evening the tables are filled with large family groups celebrating birthdays or other events. Later in the night, the crowd becomes younger. For the best pary experience, Saturday night is best.
