My circumstance was probably different than most. My friend, a local realtor, was closing a deal across the street. I am from Phoenix and did not know the area. I stopped into The Gathering to wait for my friend. I sat at the bar, feeling a little intimidated being a woman alone. The host, Dan Thomas, made me feel warm and welcome, as did the rest of his staff. I had the opportunity to have one of their fabulous Bloody Marys and delicious, warm artichoke dip. My friend later joined me, and Dan entertained us with magic tricks and jokes. It was a wonderful experience, and I will definately return to The Gathering next time I am on the coast.
