I couldn't agree more with this review. Gus has a great thing going there. And as for those girls, I remember mine was `Karen,` and I know that because her knowledge of the menu, manner, and friendly smile were all very memorable. The fact that she worked hard to `build the check` and occasionally `did the dip to build the tip` didn't hurt either! I'll be back for more! - Is follow up to post by cvfc ...
Gus may very well retire sometime in the next couple of years, so someone with more money than I needs to step up to the plate and buy this place and the recipes!! This is another North Akron institution. The "power brokers" of Akron politics-- both the elephants and the donkeys-- meet here to talk about important Akron matters. Get the lamb shank special on the luncheon menu. Steaks are good as well as fish. You get a little relish tray with dinner and the bread is good. Waitresses have had lots of time under the sun lamp and call you "hon", "dear" and/or "sweetie". Would someone with some bucks and a good plan please buy this place so Gus can retire in peace?
